Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of viennatourism.org (“Vienna Tourism Guide”, “we”, “us”). By reading the site you accept them. They were last revised on 30 August 2026.
1. What this site is
Vienna Tourism Guide publishes editorial travel information about Vienna, Austria. It is a reference library, not a booking service, a travel agency, or a tour operator. We hold no Austrian travel-trade licence, take no reservations, handle no payments for third parties, and enter into no contract with you when you use a guide.
2. Accuracy, and its limits
Guides are researched against primary sources and carry a review date. Even so, published information about Vienna goes stale in specific and predictable ways, and you should assume the following may have changed since a page was written:
- Admission prices. Austrian museums and palaces commonly revise these in January. Any euro figure here is a snapshot, not a quote.
- Opening hours and closures. Seasonal timetables, Habsburg-era buildings closing for restoration, and Austrian public holidays all affect what is open on the day you arrive.
- Transport. Wiener Linien fares, U-Bahn line works, and ÖBB timetables change. Christmas market dates and locations shift year to year.
- Businesses. Restaurants, coffee houses, Heurigen and bars close, move, change hands and change entirely in character.
Confirm anything time-critical or expensive with the operator directly before you commit to it. We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or fit for any particular purpose.
3. Not professional advice
Nothing here is legal, medical, financial, immigration or insurance advice. Guidance on Schengen entry rules, EHIC and GHIC coverage in Austria, travel insurance, currency and card acceptance, or safety is general background written for a broad readership. Your own circumstances, nationality and residency change the answer. Consult the relevant authority or a qualified professional — for entry and visa questions, that is the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs or your own government’s travel advice.
4. Your own risk
Decisions you make on the basis of these guides are yours. That includes routes we describe as walkable, districts we describe as safe at night, day trips we describe as comfortable in a single day, and any activity involving the Danube, the Vienna Woods, alpine day trips or winter conditions. To the fullest extent Austrian and applicable law permits, we exclude liability for loss, cost, injury or disappointment arising from your use of this site.
5. Copyright
The text, structure and original photography on this site are our copyright. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the page quoted. You may not republish whole guides, scrape the site in bulk, or use its contents to train a machine-learning model without written permission.
Some images are used under Creative Commons or comparable licences and are credited where they appear; those carry their own terms, which take precedence over this section. Trade marks and names — Schönbrunn, Sachertorte, Wiener Linien, the Vienna Pass and others — belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively, without any claim of affiliation.
6. Links to other sites
We link to museums, transport operators, ticket offices and other outside sites for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
7. Advertising and commission
This site may display third-party advertising, which is labelled and served by the ad network rather than chosen by us. Advertisements are not editorial recommendations, and no advertiser has any influence over what the guides say. We do not currently publish sponsored posts or paid link placements; if that changes, such content will be disclosed on the page it appears on.
Separately from advertising: booking links on this site are routed through our booking partner, Stay22, and we earn a commission from the provider if you book through one. That is a commission on a booking you chose to make, not a payment for coverage — nobody has paid to be mentioned, recommended or omitted here. The affiliate disclosure explains how it works.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or place automated load on it. Automated bulk retrieval, including scraping for republication or model training, is not permitted.
9. Changes and governing law
We may revise these terms; the revision date at the top shows when they last changed, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance. Nothing here removes any statutory right you hold as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
Questions about these terms go through the contact page.
